How can you tell how much cosmetology school will really cost?
Cosmetology school tuition may seem expensive. In reality, it’s often more affordable than you think. The costs depend on which campus you’ll be attending, what beauty program you enroll into, if you’ll be applying for scholarships and how much financial aid you’ll receive.
What other expenses will I have?
Aside from tuition and fees, students have to pay for their own kits and supplies. You’ll also have to cover living expenses, such as transportation costs. For things like personal expenses, colleges will say your personal expenses should be 100 dollars a month, and that’s what they put in when they’re figuring financial aid. But you may know that you’re actually spending 75 dollars a month, or 300 dollars a month. So you have to say, okay, my lifestyle is going to depend on me spending 300 dollars a month, so, therefore, my cost of college — if I want to continue that lifestyle — is going to be higher than what the average is, or lower.
What will Cosmetology school really cost me?
Probably less than you think. The best way to figure out what our cosmetology school may really cost you is to find out your estimated net price. This is usually far lower than the published price. Your net price for a college is the published price of tuition and fees minus your gift aid and education tax benefits. Gift aid includes grants (up to $9,100) and scholarships but not loans. When you consider net price instead of sticker price, you may realize that you can afford a college you thought was out of your financial reach. Is attending cosmetology school really worth it?
Graduating cosmetology or beauty school has many benefits. For instance, people who graduate from technical colleges earn on average $200,000 more, in a lifetime, than those who did not choose education beyond high school. A TSPA cosmetology graduate will have multi-cultural skill-sets beyond cutting and coloring hair.
